The AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield for Meade 12" LX90 and LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes is purpose-built to fit current models with the textured matte blue finish. Whether you’re observing in humid air or under light-polluted skies, this felt-lined shield helps keep your corrector plate dry while improving image contrast.
Constructed from rugged yet lightweight black ABS plastic, the shield wraps around the front cell using a Velcro-style closure for a secure, tool-free fit. The felt-lined interior absorbs ambient light and reduces radiative cooling of the corrector plate, helping to delay or prevent dew formation.
This model is a perfect match for the latest generation of Meade 12" optical tubes, whether fork-mounted in an observatory or used in the field.

Observing Tip:
If you’re planning an extended observing session, install your dew shield as soon as you set up. The earlier you insulate the corrector, the longer it will take for dew to form—if it forms at all. And as a bonus, the felt lining helps block light from nearby houses or streetlamps, especially useful when viewing faint nebulae or galaxies.
