The ZWO ASI183MM Pro is a great camera to get you headed down your imaging path.
The ZWO ASI183MM Pro is a an extremely sensitive camera at an affordable price. The cooled camera is capable of deep space images and exposures as long as 30 minutes. The back illuminated Sony IMX183 sensor has 20.4 megapixel resolution and a 5496x3672 pixel array.
The ASI183MC Pro also has a 256mb DDR3 memory buffer to help with reliablity of data transfer.
This camera is great for deep space and planetary imaging.
ASI183MC Pro has same mechanics as ASI1600 Pro. There are four screws that seal the sensor chamber. Our camera design has been extensively tested and is very stable. Even when used in higher humidity environments, ASI183MM Pro will still work fine without dew problems
The ZWO ASI183MM Pro has fantastic conectivity options.
USB 3.0 Port: Provides 5Gb bandwidth to make it possible for ASI183MM Pro to run at 19 fps (12bit, normal mode) or 19 fps (10bit, high speed mode) at full resolution (20.18Mega).
USB 2.0 HUB: Can connect with various accessories, including a filter wheel, guide camera or electronic focuser, allowing you to manage your cables better. There are two short 0.5m USB2.0 cables included with the ASI1600 Pro. The hub is powered by the external power supply if you choose to connect one.
Fast FPS and high-speed readout come in handy for many applications in astrophotography such as in
- solar and lunar imaging,
- as well as for live viewing or electronically assisted astronomy (EAA)
- real-time focusing,
- true lucky imaging of double stars and other small objects,
- planetary imaging of the major planets in the solar system, and much more.
The Cooling System.
ASI183MM Pro has 2 stage TEC cooling system to enable very deep cooling (40°C-45°C below ambient). The cooler requires an external power supply, which is not included with the camera. This is the one you will need.
We recommend using a 12V/3-5A or more DC adapter for cooler power supply (2.1×5.5, center positive).
Using a battery with 11-15V is also suitable for the cooler power supply.

One of the coolest gadgets, and a neccessity according to a majority of ZWO users, is the ASIair Plus. It is an all-in-one wireless camera solution. The ASIair Plus gives you control of focus, image taking, plate solving, and computerized mount control with the included SkySafari bridge all controlled by your smartdevice or tablet. It really is pretty awesome.
