Thousand Oaks Full Aperture Solarlite Filter For Takahashi FS-78/Sky 90 And Televue TV-85

This full aperture filter has a 101mm/4" clear aperture SolarLite filter element. It's mounted in an aluminum cell with a 114mm/4.50" internal diameter to fit scopes with a maximum diameter of 112.7mm (4-7/16").

It fits the Takahashi FS-78 and Sky 90 and TeleVue TV-85 refractors.

You can custom fit it to telescope tubes with an O.D. of 108mm (4.25") to 112.7mm (4-7/16") by using the extra supplied self-adhesive felt.

Always remember to install the solar filter before pointing your telescope at the Sun to avoid instant and irreversible damage to your eyesight.

After years of R&D we have developed a new solar film that has the optical quality of glass with the advantages of impregnated polymer. Will never develop pinholes or scratches that can let in light and ruin a filter. Other advantages: lightweight and does not require re-balancing tube assembly, will not break, consistent yellow-orange solar image, even density with any aperture, flat surface compared to other thin film filters that have wrinkles and creases. Will not tear or puncture. Stronger than any other solar film on the market.

The O.D. of our cells needs to be at least 1/16″ larger than the OD of the telescope tube or binocular barrel etc. Choose the closest cell O.D. that is LARGER than the O.D. measurement of your instrument. Example: Part number S-4250 (4 1/4″ O.D.) would fit instrument O.D. measurements from 4″ to 4-3/16″. Do not choose a size the same as your O.D. since it will be too tight. Self adhesive felt is included for custom fitting. If your application requires additional felt; Velcro, felt, and other types of material can be found at most fabric or home improvement stores. We cannot take orders for felt.
