Heliostar 76mm H-Alpha Solar Telescope – Explore the Sun Like Never Before

Experience the Sun in stunning detail with the Heliostar 76mm H-alpha Solar Telescope, a revolutionary addition to the Sky-Watcher lineup. Designed specifically for Hydrogen-alpha (Hα) solar observation, this dedicated telescope reveals the dynamic surface of the Sun far beyond what a standard white-light filter can offer. Witness breathtaking solar prominences, dancing spicules, erupting flares, bright plage patches, intricate surface granulation, plasma filaments, and much more—bringing the fiery heart of our solar system to life in ways you’ve never seen before.

Double the Fun – No Need for Costly Double Stack Systems

Unlike traditional solar telescopes requiring expensive double-stack etalons, the Heliostar 76Hα natively achieves an ultra-narrow <0.5Å bandpass for rich surface detail. With its 76mm aperture, high-resolution solar viewing and imaging are effortless—giving you professional-grade performance at an unbeatable value.

Safety First – Lab Tested & Certified

Your safety is Sky-Watcher's priority. The Heliostar 76mm H-alpha Solar Telescope meets ISO 12312-2 safety standards and is individually tested on the Sun before leaving our facility.

🔴 Important Safety Notes:
- This is a dedicated solar telescope and should only be used for solar observation.
- Incorrect usage can result in serious, permanent eye damage—always follow safe solar observing practices.
- The 11.5mm blocking filter in the removable diagonal is a critical safety feature—do not use with any other diagonal.

Hydrogen Alpha Technology – A Window into the Sun’s Chromosphere

Unlike white-light telescopes that capture the Sun’s full spectrum, Hα solar telescopes isolate the 656.3 nm wavelength, revealing the Sun’s chromosphere—the layer just above the photosphere where incredible solar activity occurs. With the Heliostar 76Hα, you can observe:

Solar prominences – Towering arcs of plasma on the Sun’s limb
Sunspots & active regions – Birthplaces of solar flares
Plage patches – Bright, magnetically active areas
Filaments & spicules – Wispy plasma structures moving across the surface
Granulation patterns – The Sun’s ever-changing texture

Revolutionary Etalon Filter Technology

At the core of every Hα solar telescope is the etalon filter, a precision optical device that isolates the Hα wavelength by using two finely spaced parallel mirrors. Unlike traditional systems that require costly double etalons for improved contrast, the Heliostar 76Hα integrates advanced Solis Etalon Technology, achieving a 0.55Å bandpass without sacrificing brightness or requiring additional filters.

Solis Etalon Technology – High Contrast Without the Cost

Standard double-stack systems darken the image by 40%, forcing you to choose between bright prominences or enhanced surface contrast. With Solis Etalon Technology, you get both—without the extra cost.

Trifid Tuner – Precision Tuning for Maximum Detail

The Trifid Tuning System applies precise pressure to the etalon plates, allowing fine adjustments to capture the richest solar detail. Unlike other tuning mechanisms, the three-vein support system ensures stability without adding unnecessary stress to peripheral components.
