Losmandy Dovetail plate for current 9.25" Celestron SCT with 16.5" hole spacing
Manufacturer Part # DC9.25N
This Losmandy aluminum dovetail plate fits current 9¼" Celestron optical tubes with 16.5" hole spacing only. It can be used for installing the optical tube on a Losmandy or Celestron mount, or for installing Losmandy accessories on the optical tube.
This machined and black anodized aluminum D-series dovetail plate fits current 9¼" Celestron optical tubes having 16.5" hole spacing only. It bolts to the existing holes in either the top or bottom of the optical tube using curved spacer blocks that match the curvature and mounting hole spacing of the optical tube's front and rear cells.
The plate has a dovetail on one side that measures 74mm wide. This allows the plate to slip easily into the 75mm wide dovetail slot of a Losmandy D-series equatorial mount saddle plate. This lets you use the dovetail plate to mount a telescope optical tube on a Losmandy G-11 or HGM Titan mount, on a current Losmandy GM-8 mount equipped with a G-11 saddle plate, or on a Celestron CI-700, CGE, CGEM, or CGE Pro equatorial mount.
Since the plate will mount on either side of the optical tube, you can also install a dovetail or second dovetail on the top of the optical tube for mounting Losmandy D-series accessories - piggybacks, photoguide rings, etc. This can be done with either a German equatorial mount or a fork mount scope.
The dovetail plate measures 0.7" thick x 4" wide x 17.25" in length, with 16.5" front cell to rear cell hole spacing. It weighs 2.9 lbs. The height from the top of the optical tube to the top of the dovetail plate is 1.20". The corners of the dovetail are beveled with a radius curvature, rather than having a sharp 90° corner. This helps prevent the dovetail from hanging up in the mount's saddle plate if the dovetail is inserted at a slight angle when setting up your scope. Most of the side of the plate opposite the dovetail has been hollowed out to lighten the dovetail without compromising its strength, as shown in the feature image.
