More on the way

This Celestron accessory kit consists of fourteen Celestron 1.25" visual accessories that will get you started observing right with your new Celestron telescope - or any brand of telescope.

The Celestron accessory kit gives you five matched 1.25" fully multicoated Plössl eyepieces produced specifically for this kit. They come in focal lengths of 6, 8, 13, 17, and 32mm. The apparent field of view of these special eyepieces is a wide 50 degrees (43 degrees on the 32mm). Each has a soft rolldown rubber eyecup to shield your eye from ambient light.

You get a fully multicoated 2x 1.25" Barlow to double the power of the eyepieces.

To bring out surface structure and details in lunar and planetary observing, you get the following 1.25" eyepiece color filters: #12 medium yellow, #21 orange, #25A medium red, #56 light green, #58A dark green, and #80A medium blue.

You also get a 1.25" neutral density Moon filter to cut down the glare of our nearest celestial neighbor without affecting the color and increase the contrast of its features. The filter is also useful for splitting close binary stars, as it will reduce the glare of the brighter star of the pair so that the dimmer component isn't overwhelmed by the light of the brighter one.

Finally, all the accessories come in a locking aluminum-frame 13" x 11" x 5" hard carrying case with a die-cut foam interior to keep them conveniently handy in the dark. The case has room to store other eyepieces or small accessories, as well.

Mixed bag

"Color filters are good, 32mm eyepiece was good, other eyepieces are decent, moon filter is too green, Barlow lens is awful. Just awful. Might have just been luck of the draw, but I seemed to get a mediocre set. Still, there's some nice stuff in a decent case and can work as a good starter set if the Barlow lens was better."

Great Way To Get Started

"This is a great way to start observing and trying different eyepieces before buying anything expensive. I use the 32 mm as my primary eyepiece now on my 8" reflector."

excellent starter kit

"Great starter kit here. If you're looking for an entry level starter kit with solid performance, then this is the kit you want. It's a tremendous value when you consider all you get for the price. I love this kit. the views are crisp, sharp and very respectable for a $149.00 kit. An absolute must have starter kit."

Just alright

"The 32mm eyepiece is the best of the bunch, and I use it quite frequently. The others are not bad for a starter kit, but the shorter you get in focal length, the more the apparent view quality drops. For the money, it's an okay kit, but better quality can be found elsewhere for not too much more."

it's okay

"I guess for $150 dollars, the value of this kit is okay. But be advised, this is starter gear. I have eventually replaced every one of these eyepieces with a Meade 4000 Plossl. There are also better Celestron eyepieces. These are good enough to look at stars with, but don't expect killer views. The shorter focal lengths are hard to use due to the small image circle and the fact that you have to get your eyeball right up in there. My advice would be to buy 1 or 2 good quality $70 eyepieces. Maybe a 14mm to start and then add a 9mm or a 20mm. Most small scopes you would try the 5mm with are not going to be stable enough to endure a view for long without loosing tracking."

Good for beginner

"This was one of the first kits i bought in this journey of mine it served me well, and reminds me how far I've come in this lifetime hobby they offer good enough views and have what you need to get started. The low power was my favorite one in the bunch"

Good for beginners on a budget

"I got this when i bought my 9.25 and the eyepieces are average quality, but its great for a beginner as I was and provided me with a variety of magnifications and FOV to experiment with. As for the filters, I only used the moon filter and it was great to keep the brightness down. A moon filter is a must have LOL.. you'll see. I was happy for a long time and these served me well until i got more serious with the hobby and was willing to invest in better eyepieces. price to performance ratio is high for this set. Clear Skies All!!"

A good set to get you started

"The eyepieces are very good, I love using them with my Celestron C8 to look at the moon. I haven't used the filters much. I would give the filters a much lower rating than the eyepieces if i could because the moon filter I received had a bubble in the glass."

Great First Eyepiece Kit

"Are you buying your first real telescope? Then you should probably get these. It's a great (inexpensive) way to get introduced to how the different sized eyepieces affect magnification, field of view, etc. when chasing those faint fuzzies. Are they the greatest quality? Not really...but, hey, for the price of less than a decent grade eyepiece, you get 5 of them plus a number of filters you can play with to try and coax out different details from those fuzz-balls :) - Clear Skies, my friends!"

Review by Richard Tieperman

"Making your new scope your own is picking products that help it become a reflection of you. I purchased the set of eye pieces for my scope. I would recommend getting them because of the break in the price, rather than purchasing them separately is costly. But the set is great. I liked the cool green filter, when looking at a full moon. Its just to bright with out the filter, being new at this i find that I am still learning. I would recommend this set to a friend. Thank you 50 times. Richard"
