This stainless steel counterweight shaft is designed to restore proper balance and tracking performance for several of iOptron’s most compact and portable equatorial mounts. Whether you're setting up a SkyGuider Pro, SkyHunter, or one of the newer HAE strain wave drive mounts, this 200mm counterweight shaft is the key to counterbalancing your payload for accurate, vibration-free tracking.

Ideal as a replacement or spare, it threads directly into the mount and provides a stable platform for adding compatible counterweights—ensuring that your mount performs at its best, even under heavier imaging loads.

Observing Tip

For best results, always balance your mount both east-west and north-south before powering on the motors. This shaft makes that process smooth and predictable—especially when used with iOptron's matching counterweights. Add only as much weight as necessary to achieve a gentle balance; overloading will reduce tracking accuracy and increase wear on the motors.
