iOptron AZ Mount Pro Go-To Computerized Alt-Azimuth Mount with Tri-Pier

Part Number: 8900-TP

"Level and Go" Has Never Been This Capable

If you've been searching for a fully GoTo computerized mount that doesn’t require polar alignment and can still carry a serious payload, your answer is here: the iOptron AZ Mount Pro with Tri-Pier.

This isn’t your average alt-az mount. The AZ Mount Pro blends intuitive setup, whisper-quiet performance, and advanced automation in a compact, travel-friendly design. And thanks to the included Tri-Pier, you get rock-solid support for everything from solar scopes to 6" refractors and 9.25" SCTs.

Easy Setup: Just Level, Power On, and Go

The AZ Mount Pro is built around iOptron's innovative “Level and Go” alignment routine. Once the mount is leveled using its built-in bubble level, simply power it on. The mount’s onboard 32-channel GPS, combined with position and angular sensors, determines your location and scope orientation in seconds—no input or additional accessories needed.

The mount automatically slews to a bright reference object. You confirm the object is centered, and just like that, you're aligned and ready to explore over 212,000 celestial objects from the onboard Go2Nova® database.

Strong, Silent, and Surprisingly Compact

Despite weighing just 13 pounds (not including counterweight or Tri-Pier), the AZ Mount Pro can carry 33 lbs on its primary saddle, plus an additional 10 lbs on the optional secondary saddle. That's enough for many medium-to-large OTAs plus accessories.

The dual dovetail saddle accepts both Losmandy and Vixen-style plates. Add iOptron’s optional #8953 secondary Vixen saddle, and you can mount a DSLR or smaller scope opposite your main OTA for grab-and-go imaging or wide-field observing.

Whisper-quiet low-power stepper motors with zero-backlash drive make slewing and tracking smooth and reliable. The mount even memorizes its position in the event of power loss, resuming operation once power is restored.

Tri-Pier Stability in the Field or Observatory

Included with this configuration is the rugged iOptron Tri-Pier, a hybrid pier/tripod support that provides adjustable height, exceptional vibration damping, and fast setup in uneven terrain. With the pier, counterweight, and mount together, you're ready for serious alt-az observing with the stability of an observatory-class rig.
