Observing Tip:
Tripod height has a big impact on stability and comfort. For planetary or high-power work, keep the tripod legs retracted as much as possible to reduce flex and vibration. For visual use or outreach, extending the tripod can raise the eyepiece to a more ergonomic height—just be sure to level it before alignment for best GoTo accuracy.
