There’s nothing quite as frustrating as perfectly aligning your telescope, only to have your eyepiece or finder fog up just as things get interesting. This Thousand Oaks dew heater strip is a compact, energy-efficient solution designed specifically for 1.25" eyepieces and small finderscopes. Whether you’re observing from a humid backyard or a chilly dark-sky site, this strip helps prevent dew buildup before it starts.

The heater strip wraps snugly around your eyepiece barrel or finder tube and gently warms the surface—just enough to stay ahead of moisture condensation without impacting image quality. It’s flexible, low-profile, and easy to secure with the attached hook-and-loop (Velcro®-style) fastener.

Power Requirements:
Requires a 12V DC power source and dew controller (sold separately). Compatible with most standard dew controllers and Thousand Oaks’ own Dew Controller systems. 

The heater strip draws 0.25 amps at full power (power consumption at normal operating levels will generally be much less).

It has a permanently attached 4' power cord that is terminated by an RCA plug for connection to the control unit.

Compatibility:
1" x 4" dew heater strip fits 1.25" eyepieces and most finderscopes up to 50mm aperture. The flexible wrap design accommodates slight diameter variations and non-standard barrels.

Observing Tip:
For maximum effectiveness, always power your dew heaters before dew begins to form. Once optics are fogged, heaters are less effective at clearing moisture than preventing it in the first place.
