The AstroZap AZ-114-M flexible dew shield offers a simple, lightweight, and power-free way to reduce dew formation on your corrector plate—while also shielding your optics from unwanted stray light.
This dew shield is made of durable yet lightweight black ABS plastic, which offers just the right amount of flexibility to wrap easily around the front cell of your optical tube. The inside is fully lined with black felt, which not only helps absorb ambient moisture to delay dew but also acts as a light baffle—reducing reflections and improving contrast, especially in urban or suburban skies.
Installation is quick and tool-free. The shield wraps around the telescope’s front cell, with the ends overlapping and securing via sewn-in VELCRO® Brand fasteners. These provide a snug and lasting hold. Inside, a two-inch wide rubber trim ring helps grip the optical tube and prevent slippage, even when observing at high altitudes or repositioning the scope during the night.
This is a passive dew solution, so no power source or heater controller is required—ideal for visual observers who want simplicity and reliability.
