The AstroZap AZ-809-E Flexi-Heat® heated dew shield provides a powerful combination of both passive and active dew control, tailored specifically for the Celestron NexStar Evolution 9.25" SCT and other 9.25" optical tubes with a side-mounted dovetail bar.

This isn't a slip-on shield—it’s a wraparound design made from durable, high-quality ABS-grade polymer, which conforms snugly to your optical tube and secures in place using VELCRO® Brand fasteners. The inside is fully lined with black felt, reducing stray light and insulating the front corrector cell to help delay dew naturally. But when passive protection isn’t enough, the AZ-809-E includes a built-in heating element that delivers a steady 12 watts of warmth at 12 volts (1.01 amps), keeping dew at bay through even the most humid conditions.

The integrated RCA connector makes it easy to pair with a dedicated Astrozap Dew Controller (AZ-720) or Astrozap D/C adapter (AZ-719). Use of third-party controllers is not recommended, as they may cause electrical damage and void the manufacturer’s warranty.

At just 15" in total length, the AZ-809-E rolls up easily for travel and storage, making it a favorite among those heading to dark sky sites or star parties. Its notch accommodates dovetail bars or guide scopes without compromising fit, and padded fasteners protect your optical tube’s finish.
