The ZWO ASI1600MM Pro provides the imager in us all with excellent performance for astrophotography.
The ZWO ASI1600MM Pro is a high performance camera at an affordable price. The 1600mm Pro has the ability to handle deep space imaging with ease, and then move right on over to lunar/planetary/solar imaging.
The camera will perform with quite a large variety of instruments. Out of the box it is best suited with focal lenghts from 300mm to 1,000mm. If you decide to bin 2 x 2 then it works great with 1,000mm to 2,000mm of focal lengths.
This particular CMOS camera has the ability to record 16mp videos at 23 frames per second, which is great for solar imaging. You can push the envelope and record 192.4 frames per second (320x240 resolution) allowing you to image planets.
The ASI1600mm Pro also has a 256mb DDR3 memory buffer to help with reliablity of data transfer. The Pro also offers low read noise, low dark current, and high dynamic range. The dynamic range is actually better than the KAF8300.
The ZWO ASI1600MM Pro has fantastic conectivity options.
ASI1600 Pro has 2 stage TEC cooling system to enable very deep cooling (40°C-45°C below ambient). The cooler requires an external power supply, which is not included with the camera. This is the one you will need.

The ASIair pro gives you control of focus, image taking, plate solving, and computerized mount control with the included SkySafari bridge all controlled by your smartdevice or tablet. It really is pretty awesome.
