This product has been discontinued and is no longer for sale. This is here for informational purposes only.
The ZWO ASI1600GT has a built in Electronic Color Filter Wheel.
The ZWO ASI1600MM was ZWO's first entry into deep space imaging. Don't let that fool you as it handles planetary imaging as well with the USB 3.0 output.
This particular CMOS camera has the ability to record videos at 23 frames per second, which is great for solar imaging. You can push the envelope and record 192.4 frames per second (320x240 resolution) allowing you to image planets.
The internal 5-position electronic filter wheel (EFW) can accept both 1.25” and 31mm filters. The EFW is driven by a whisper quiet high grade stepper motor.
The body of the EFW is CNC milled from an aircraft grade aluminum block finished in an attractive and hardwearing anodized finish. The inner surface of the EFA has been especially treated to prevent internal light reflections.
Important Note: The thickness of the 1.25” filter cannot exceed 7mm (without threads), and the thread must be shorter than 2.5mm to avoid the filter wheel striking the camera housing.
The camera body has 24 heat radiating grooves fitted with dual maglev fans to ensure the temperature difference before and after cooling remains between 40-45℃ below ambient temperature. (Tested at 30℃). The lower the ambient temperature is, the lower the delta-T will be. )
The ZWO ASI1600MM allows you to remove the M42 adapter dropping backfocus to 6.5mm. And connectivity? Don't worry about it as ZWO has you pretty well covered. USB 3.0 port, USB 2.0 hub.
ZWO has all their information available for download on their website in a perfectly laid out section. Check it out here for software and drivers and here for manuals and guides.
One of the coolest gadgets, and a neccessity according to a majority of ZWO users, is the ASIair pro. It is an all-in-one wireless camera solution. The ASIair pro gives you control of focus, image taking, plate solving, and computerized mount control with the included SkySafari bridge all controlled by your smartdevice or tablet. It really is pretty awesome.
