Vernonscope 2" 48mm Brandon Eyepiece

The 2" 48mm Vernonscope Brandon eyepiece is designed for nigh-perfect low power deep sky observing with any telescope type that can use 2" eyepieces, at focal ratios of f/7 and above. With shorter focal length telescopes, the exit pupil will become larger than your dark-adapted eye's pupil, wasting some of your scope's light-gathering capability.

Emission and reflection nebulas, planetary nebulas, globular clusters, open clusters - all look superb against the dark sky background of the tack-sharp, high contrast, 48mm Brandon. Observers typically comment that the 48mm Vernonscope Brandon seems to make their telescopes disappear. They say that looking through the Brandon is like looking at the sky with your bare eye, only with everything larger and sharper, as if the telescope and eyepiece didn't exist.

Eye relief is very long, at 40mm, allowing titaslly unvignetted use with eyeglasses. There is no rubber eyeguard, so keeping your eye centered on the exit pupil to prevent momentary blackouts can be a minor issue until you become familiar with the eyepiece.
