The iOptron Adjustable Alt-Azimuth Base (#3327) is designed to make polar alignment faster, easier, and more precise for users of the SkyTracker Pro and SkyGuider Pro star trackers. Built from solid metal and packed with fine-tuning functionality, this base allows for ±5° azimuth and -30° to +65° altitude adjustment, so you can dial in polar alignment without detaching your mount or disturbing your setup.

Thanks to its dual-direction design, the same base supports left- or right-side mounting of your gear for better balance—ideal when using heavier DSLR or mirrorless camera rigs. This versatile base also works with other compact tracking mounts that use a Vixen-style dovetail and a standard 3/8"-16 tripod thread, making it a great all-purpose wedge for mobile astrophotographers.

Observing Tip:

If you're using a heavier DSLR or telephoto lens with your tracker, try mounting the base in its “inverted” position—placing the load on the opposite side. This helps balance the system and reduces stress on the mount, improving tracking performance and reducing drift during long exposures.
