Manufacturer Part # AZ-107-M
AstroZap Flexi-Shield® Flexible Dew Shield – For Most Meade 8" SCTs and 7" Maksutovs
Affordable, Lightweight Dew Protection for Classic Meade and 7" Mak Owners
The AstroZap Flexi-Shield® flexible dew shield offers a lightweight, field-tested way to keep dew off your corrector plate—and stray light out of your field of view. This version is made to fit most Meade 8" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes and 7" Maksutov-Cassegrains, including older LX200 and LX90 models.
Constructed from durable black ABS plastic and lined with light-absorbing felt, the Flexi-Shield acts as both a thermal insulator and light baffle. The shield slows the temperature drop at the front of the optical tube, helping prevent dew from forming, while the interior felt blocks ambient light that can reduce contrast during visual observing or imaging.
It installs quickly and securely with a Velcro-style wraparound closure, and when the session’s done, it rolls up for easy transport and storage.

Observing Tip:
Even if dew doesn’t seem like a threat, installing your dew shield early helps stabilize the temperature around your optics and reduce the chance of fogging later in the session. It’s also a simple but effective way to increase contrast in suburban environments where stray light is unavoidable.
