Astrozap Binoviewer Heater Straps, Pair
Manufacturer Part # AZ-718
This AstroStrap binoviewer/binocular heater consists of two 1.25" x 6" dew heater strips, one for each eyepiece in a binoviewer setup. The two strips can also be used to warm the objective lenses of binoculars with a maximum outer diameter of 60mm (this includes most 50mm binoculars). The strips are permanently wired together. A 6' power cord terminated by a male RCA plug for connection to the heater control unit is permanently attached to one of the strips. A separate 6" pigtail with a female RCA plug is connected to the same strip. If the heater is used on a binoviewer, the extra RCA jack allows you to power another dew heater that's connected to the main objective of the telescope or spotting scope. If the heater is used on binocular objectives, the extra jack can be used to power a second binoviewer heater to warm the eyepieces of the binoculars.
One side of each heater strip is sponge-insulated. This directs the warmth of the heater element into the eyepieces or objectives, rather than being lost into the atmosphere, so that less energy is needed to keep your optics moisture free. The entire back (label side) of each heater strip is Velcro. There is a Velcro tab on an elastic strap on one end of each strip. The heater strips are wrapped around the eyepieces, label side out. When you pull the strap tight and press the Velcro tab onto the Velcro back of the heater, the elasticity of the strap holds the heater in place on the eyepiece. The dual heater strips draw a total of 0.47 amps at full power (although power consumption at normal operating levels will generally be considerably less).
