This physically short (3.1") Astro-Tech 2x achromatic Barlow is an inexpensive way to cleanly double the power of any 1.25" eyepiece in your collection . . .The Astro-Tech AT2XB achromatic 2x Barlow is physically quite short at 3.1" in length. This allows it to be used in the star diagonal of catadioptric and refractor telescopes to keep the eyepiece height comfortably low, as well as being used in reflector focusers.

By doubling the power of each eyepiece it is used with, this Astro-Tech Barlow effectively doubles the number of 1.25" eyepieces in your collection. It uses a two-element, fully-multicoated optical system for excellent color correction and sharpness and works best at focal ratios of f/6 and above. The lens edges are blackened for maximum image contrast. The body is made of precision CNC-machined aluminum and is anodized for long life. A thumbscrew holds eyepieces in place.

Great for planetary imaging

"This barlow is good quality and ideal for both viewing and imaging for the planets and good old Luna (the moon). I also use it with my refractor to get high power views of the sun for viewing and imaging with a solar filter."

Good value

"I purchased this years ago for observing planets and imaging planets with my various telescopes and have pleasantly surprised. I get very sharp views using this Barlow with my 17 mm and 11 mm eyepiece and imaging has also been very good."

Kurt (5/5)

Good value

"This has proven to be an excellent Barlow as I use it for imaging planets and for observing planets and small objects. Objects appear very sharp while using this Barlow."

"Hi guys i have a eyepieces 25mm and a telescope with a length 1400mm 1400/25= 56 times but when i use this barlow 2x i will see 112times so you do not have to buy a another eyepieces and if you have another eyepieces like 4mm or 6mm or 8mm or 9mm or 10mm or 12mm or 17mm or 25mm or 32mm and you can you see how many times you can see like mine i have a telescope with a length 1400mm and then you can say for example 1400/10= 140x2 280 times you will see when you use this barlow it is genius. trust me"
