I bought this particular model of LiteRoc tripod for use with my ZWO AM5 mount, as a sturdier, yet still portable and affordable, base. It has met my needs quite well. I have the 200 mm ZWO pier extension for my AM5 which attaches easily and securely to the top of this tripod via 2- 6mm Allen screws. Simple and solid. Holds my AM5 with the AT-102E

The tripod with the pier extension is more than tall enough if you extend the legs fully, though I recommend, depending on your height and purpose, extending the legs about 2/3 of their length for greater stability. For me, and I'm 6' 2" tall, extending the lower legs about 16 inches for visual use works perfectly. For AP, I think the the legs can probably be left fully retracted at the minimum height. The tripod feet are different than I am used to - not spiked feet like many tripods, but on solid surfaces, they work great. One note of importance - when you extend the legs, be sure to clamp down the leg locking levers securely.
