DL easily, and should not be overburdened with anything that the AM5 can handle within reason. The tripod with the pier extension is more than tall enough if you extend the legs fully, though I recommend, depending on your height and purpose, extending the legs about 2/3 of their length for greater stability. For me, and I'm 6' 2" tall, extending the lower legs about 16 inches for visual use works perfectly. For AP, I think the the legs can probably be left fully retracted at the minimum height. The tripod feet are different than I am used to - not spiked feet like many tripods, but on solid surfaces, they work great. One note of importance - when you extend the legs, be sure to clamp down the leg locking levers securely.
