TeleVue T-Ring Adapter for 2" 4x Powermate

This threaded adapter ring replaces the 2" eyepiece holder on the 2" 4x TeleVue Powermate Barlow and can only be used with the newest version of the Powermate (our part #9140C). After unscrewing the black 2" eyepiece holder from the chrome barrel containing the optics of the Powermate, the adapter threads directly onto the chrome barrel in place of the eyepiece holder. The adapter has T-threads that allow a T-ring to be attached to the adapter so you can connect your 35mm camera directly to the Powermate optics for photography (terrestrial, lunar, etc. - bright subjects that do not require the very high magnification normally provided by eyepiece projection photography). Magnification is four times that of prime focus photography, while exposure time increases by a factor of sixteen. With the bright subjects this type of photography is suited for, such an increase in exposure time is normally of little concern. This adapter is particularly well suited for photography with short focal length refractors capable of using 2" visual accessories, such as most of those from TeleVue. CCD cameras with female T-thread couplings can also be used with this adapter.
