These split and hinged UA 79mm i.d. optical tube mounting rings are made of solid aluminum, anodized black for long life. They are felt-lined and have a lock lever to lock them on your optical tube. The rings have a 79mm internal diameter designed to fit the Radian 61mm refractor, but will also fit any refractor with a 79mm OD tube. Now some tubes will need a little extra felt, like the Astro-Tech 60ED. Its tube is 76mm, so a quick run to the hobby store and you should be good to go with a nice set of rings. The rings only weigh 5 oz. each.

There are three threaded mounting holes on each side of the rings for mounting on most equatorial mount dovetail plates. The center hole is 1/4"-20 thread, while the outer holes are M6-1.0. The rings also have notches routed out that provide some very nice cable managment options for heaters and such.

Very nice set of rings

"Very nice set of rings with so many optons for mounting additional accessories. Mine is holding an AT60ED mounted to a Vixen type rail. A special thanks for the suggestion from Michael at Astronomics to use a thin piece of rubber mat to keep the Optical tube precisely fit and snug in the rings, Mounted to the rings are an ASI AIR, a red dot finder, and a 120mm-f4 compact guidescope for my guide camera. at various locations on the six sided rings. Just awesome. Now I have a grab-n-go imaging system for those short, mobile nights. And, what a bargain! Thanks, Michael!"
