The Telrad 4" Riser Base is a simple but incredibly helpful upgrade for users of the popular Telrad reflex finder. Designed to raise your Telrad four inches above your telescope’s optical tube, this riser improves ergonomics and viewing comfort—especially on larger scopes where the finder often ends up in awkward positions.
This riser base installs between your existing Telrad finder and its mounting base. It adds four inches of vertical clearance, making it easier to get your eye behind the finder without craning your neck or contorting your body. If you use a Dobsonian or any other scope where the finder ends up low on the tube or in tight spaces, this spacer can make a big difference in usability.
The 4" riser is made of sturdy black plastic to match the Telrad's original design. It slides into your existing Telrad base using the same dovetail-style mount, so no tools are required for installation. Once attached, your Telrad locks in securely, just as it would directly on the telescope.
The Telrad 4" riser base is also stackable with the 2" riser or other risers for those needing even more height. Whether you’re star hopping near the zenith or just want a more comfortable observing position, this riser is a simple and effective solution.
