The Celestron #93920 NexStar RS-232 Cable connects your NexStar telescope to a laptop or PC so you can update your telescope firmware or control your scope from your PC using a planetarium software program.

The Celestron #93920 NexStar RS-232 Cable connects your PC or laptop computer to your NexStar computerized telescope via a port in the scope's hand control. This allows you to control your telescope from your computer. There are many optional software programs available that not only display the night sky as it appears on any chosen observing night, but also allow you to send your telescope to any object on the screen with the click of a button.

The cable's large adapter plug attaches to the serial port of your computer. If your computer only has a USB port, with no serial port, you will also need a #CABLEU serial-to-USB adapter software and cable package to connect this #93920 NexStar cable to your PC. The small end of the NexStar cable terminates in a phone-jack style plug, and simply snaps into the port in the bottom of your scope hand control that is designed for this purpose. The Celestron #93920 cable measures 62 inches long.

Once you have connected your computer and telescope, you can update your scope's hand control firmware. The latest updates can be found in the Support section of Celestron's website.
