Designed for 8" SCTs, EdgeHDs, and RASA optical tubes made in 2006 or later (with trilobed rear cells), this ring swaps in place of your original plastic retaining ring. Use the included paper installation shield to protect the corrector, and follow the simple instructions—no collimation required, no special tools needed.
Once installed, it supports your telescope’s dust cover, fits your standard accessories, and becomes a permanent part of your dew control system.

Note: While compatible with third-party dew controllers for basic heating, the internal thermistor is only functional with Celestron’s Smart DewHeater Controllers.

Newer generation Celestron SCTs built in the year 2006 or later are compatible with the Dew Heater Ring. These newer OTAs have a trilobed shape on the rear cell. In addition, newer generation 14" SCTs have a rounded rear cell. See photo examples below. All EdgeHD, RASA, 6” Schmidt-Cassegrain and 9.25” Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes are compatible with the Dew Heater Ring.
