iOptron MiniPier for HAE69, HAE43, and HAZ71 Mounts (#8043)
Extra clearance for your mount—where and when you need it.
Need more elbow room between your mount and tripod legs? The iOptron MiniPier (#8043) provides an additional 8 inches (200mm) of height, helping you avoid ground strikes and improving usability with long optical tubes, imaging setups, or refractors with rear-mounted focusers.
Purpose-built for iOptron's strain wave gear mounts like the HAE69, HAE43, and HAZ71, this robust pier extension installs easily between your mount and tripod or pier to give your system a cleaner line of sight and better clearance during slewing and tracking.
Key Features:
8" (200mm) Height Extension: Adds valuable clearance between your mount and tripod legs—great for longer scopes or when using camera equipment that needs more room to maneuver.
Compatible with Multiple Mounts: Designed to fit the HAE69, HAE43, and HAZ71 mounts natively. Also supports CEM70, CEM40, and GEM45 heads with the same bolt pattern.
Rugged All-Metal Construction: Machined aluminum with a durable anodized finish, built to handle heavy payloads and frequent field setups.
Precision-Fitted Top Plate (152mm Diameter): Custom-sized to accept a wide range of iOptron mount heads with perfect alignment and stability.
Universal Base Compatibility: Attaches securely to several iOptron tripod and pier options:
CEM70/CEM60/iEQ45 Tripod (#8023ACC)
Tri-Pier (#8034)
Tri-Pier 360 (#8037A)
Permanent Pier (#8038)
Secure Bolt Pattern: Bottom mounting holes are pre-drilled for 2x M8 bolts spaced on a 130mm diameter circle—a common iOptron pier/tripod standard for seamless integration.

Observing Tip:
If you're using a refractor with a long focal length, or find your diagonal or camera getting too close to the tripod legs, this MiniPier is a simple and effective solution. It also helps when setting up on uneven terrain by giving your mount more flexibility in balancing and slewing positions without physical obstruction.
About Astronomics
Helping Astronomers Since 1979
For more than four decades, Astronomics has helped hundreds of thousands of astronomers explore the universe—from someone choosing a first telescope to experienced observers and astrophotographers building the system they’ve always wanted.
A lot has changed in astronomy since we opened our doors in 1979. But one thing hasn’t:
Good advice still matters.
Astronomics was built on knowing the equipment we sell, using it ourselves, and helping people choose what’s right for them—not simply what costs more. More than four decades later, that same philosophy still guides us.
When you call Astronomics, you’ll talk to real people who know astronomy, understand the equipment, and are happy to help.
Because our goal has never been simply to sell telescopes. We want to help you enjoy astronomy.
The universe is waiting. We’d be honored to help you explore it. Fred Bieler, founder of Astronomics, in our old Norman showroom.
