The Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi mount might be the perfect portable mount for your small telescope.

Sky-Watcher has taken the last 8 years worth of user input and data from their ground-breaking portable AZ-GTi and Star Adventurer camera tracker and put it to good work in their next portable astroimaging platform.  The new Star Adventurer GTi takes the Sky Watcher mount DNA and puts it in a compact GoTo package.

The all-new Star Adventurer GTi is jam-packed full of features.   The mount comes with a built-in illuminated polar scope for precision alignment in EQ mode allowing a more precise polar alignment.  The illuminator brightness can be adjusted by your smartphone or tablet when you use the SynScan app though the integrated Wifi on the Star Adventurer GTi.  The mount has ports for USB-B, an ST-4 autoguider, optional SynScan hand controller, and SNAP shutter control for your DSLR (programmable via Sky-Watcher’s free SynScan Pro app for iOS and Android). Star Adventurer GTi also includes a dual-position counterweight for use at low latitudes as well as full smartphone control via Wi-Fi.  The saddle plate accepts a standard Vixen style dovetail.

With the added GoTo feature plus multiple tracking rates including lunar, solar, and sidereal, the heavens are yours to capture and explore.

With its 11-pound payload capacity, Star Adventurer is well-equipped to handle your DLSR or mirrorless camera sporting a wide-angle or telephoto lens plus accessories, a small aperture astrograph with a dedicated astro camera, or even small OTA’s such as our Skymax series of Maksutov-Cassegrain telescopes perfect for deep space objects, the Moon, and planets.

This particular mount does not come with a tripod of any sort.

The mount itself can run off of eight AA batteries using the two built in battery holders under the RA cap, or an optional external 12V power source.
