Celestron AstroMaster 102AZ Refractor
Manufacturer Part # 22065
Manufacturer Part # 22065
A no-fuss refractor that’s as comfortable under the stars as it is during daylight hours.
Whether you’re scanning lunar craters, chasing Jupiter’s moons, or watching wildlife across a lake, the Celestron AstroMaster 102AZ offers a versatile observing experience that’s easy to set up, easy to use, and a joy to look through. Its bright 4" aperture gathers ample light for serious views, while the alt-azimuth mount and upright-view optics make it equally at home for terrestrial use during the day.
Perfect for beginners and casual observers, the AstroMaster 102AZ is a grab-and-go refractor with an upgraded optical tube, sturdy tripod, and no complicated electronics to slow you down.
The AstroMaster 102AZ uses a 102mm (4") air-spaced achromatic doublet refractor with fully coated glass optics for crisp, high-contrast views. With a 660mm focal length and moderate f/6.5 focal ratio, this scope provides bright, wide-field views that are perfect for sweeping the Milky Way, viewing open clusters like the Pleiades, or getting crisp looks at the Moon and planets.
It’s also well suited for terrestrial observation. The included 90° erect image diagonal corrects the view for right-side-up, left-to-right orientation—just like a spotting scope, but with astronomy-grade optics.
No tools, no alignment routines, no hassle—just extend the tripod, attach the tube, and start observing. The AstroMaster 102AZ includes a manual alt-azimuth mount with a smooth pan handle control and adjustable clutch. You can track objects across the sky or around the horizon by simply guiding the scope left, right, up, or down.
The full-height steel tripod offers adjustable height (32"–51") and a wide accessory tray to hold your eyepieces and diagonal close at hand. Despite its sturdiness, the full setup weighs just under 13 lbs, making it portable enough to take to a dark sky site or a family vacation.
Celestron includes everything you need to get started right away:
20mm eyepiece (33x) – A great starting magnification for wide-field views of the Moon, star clusters, and terrestrial scenes.
10mm eyepiece (66x) – Provides higher magnification for lunar detail and planetary observing.
Erect image 90° diagonal – Delivers upright and correctly oriented views, ideal for both astronomy and terrestrial use.
Red dot finderscope – Makes aiming the telescope quick and intuitive, day or night.
Steel tripod with accessory tray – Provides a stable observing platform with a place to hold accessories.
Starry Night Software & SkyPortal App – Explore the sky digitally and plan your sessions with Celestron’s interactive planetarium tools.

The AstroMaster 102AZ hits the sweet spot for new observers: it’s big enough to wow you with lunar and planetary detail, yet light and simple enough to use on a whim. Whether you’re watching a sailboat glide across the horizon or studying Saturn’s rings, this telescope delivers sharp, upright images without the learning curve of an equatorial mount. It’s everything you need to get started—minus the excuses.
