Losmandy 11" Universal Dovetail Plate For Vixen Mounts

This 11" long Losmandy universal dovetail plate lets you mount long focal length optical tubes and catadioptric scopes on mounts having a Vixen-style dovetail slot. The long length of the dovetail makes it easy to balance the optical tube when changing payloads.

This 11" long Losmandy universal dovetail plate fits the 46mm dovetail slot of the Vixen-style saddle used on current Vixen and Vixen-style German equatorial mounts (Vixen Great Polaris, Sphinx, or Porta mounts; Celestron CG-5, Advanced Series, and Advanced VX mounts; and the Meade LXD-75 mount). It is designed primarily to hold the mounting rings of Astro-Tech, TMB, TeleVue, Orion, Takahashi, and Meade refractors, plus those of the medium and larger Meade and Celestron catadioptric optical tubes.

The dovetail has a series of 18 threaded and unthreaded mounting holes and three 0.25" wide x 1.675" long slots for installing virtually any configuration of mounting rings. This link will take you to a drawing of the mounting hole pattern and spacing. The slots and holes are countersunk on the underside of the dovetail. This assures that the bolts holding the mounting rings will not protrude and keep the dovetail plate from sliding back and forth in the mount saddle for balancing. The 0.625" thick dovetail is precision-machined of aluminum stock. It measures 11" long x 1.7" wide overall and is anodized black for good looks and durability. It weighs 16 ounces.
