True RC Optics in a Portable Format

The RC10-Truss uses hyperbolic primary and secondary mirrors, both made of low-expansion quartz and enhanced with high-reflectivity dielectric coatings. These optics deliver crisp, high-contrast images with minimal aberrations across the field—no need for a corrector or reducer to eliminate coma or chromatic distortion.

And because the primary mirror is fixed, you won’t experience image shift while focusing—critical for long exposures and precise framing during automated imaging runs.

With a focal length of 2000mm at f/8, the RC10 offers excellent resolution for galaxies, globular clusters, and other small deep-sky objects, while still maintaining a manageable field of view for large targets.

Carbon Fiber Truss Tube Construction

The lightweight carbon fiber truss design provides a strong, stable optical tube with minimal thermal expansion. This open construction allows for fast cool-down to ambient temperature, improving focus retention and collimation consistency across long imaging sessions. The structure is optimized for strength without adding unnecessary weight, keeping the RC10 highly portable compared to larger observatory-class scopes.

Crayford Focuser and iEAF Compatibility

A 3" linear bearing Crayford focuser comes standard on the RC10, offering smooth, backlash-free operation with dual-speed control. It’s ideal for holding cameras, filter wheels, and other heavy accessories without flex or slippage. The focuser is also compatible with iOptron’s iEAF electronic focuser system (sold separately), making it easy to automate your focusing workflow for remote or robotic imaging.

Included threaded extension rings (two 1" and one 2") help you dial in the ideal back focus for your specific imaging train.

Active Cooling System

Three built-in cooling fans at the rear of the primary mirror cell help bring the scope to thermal equilibrium quickly, reducing image distortion caused by thermal gradients. A battery-powered fan controller is included to power the fans in the field without needing an external power supply.
