More on the way

The iOptron iGuider is a compact, lightweight autoguiding camera designed to help astrophotographers keep their imaging targets precisely centered—even during long exposures. Built around a sensitive CMOS sensor and optimized for pulse guiding through ASCOM-compatible mounts, the iGuider delivers accurate tracking corrections without the fuss of additional adapters or bulky setups.

If you're looking for a no-nonsense, space-saving guiding solution to tighten your stars and boost your subs, the iGuider has you covered.

Crisp Tracking, Clean Images

At its core, the iGuider uses a 1/3" CMOS sensor with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and 3.75µm pixel size—providing the kind of fine-scale correction needed to support longer focal lengths and longer exposures. It’s not just accurate—it’s efficient, giving you sharp, round stars even in challenging seeing conditions.

Pulse Guiding via ASCOM

The iGuider is designed specifically for ASCOM pulse guiding, meaning it sends correction commands directly to the mount over a USB connection. That eliminates the need for ST-4 guide cables and simplifies your setup, especially if you're running software like NINA, PHD2, or Sequence Generator Pro. Just connect via USB, calibrate once, and let the software handle the rest.

Note: The iGuider does not use ST-4 autoguiding ports. All corrections are handled via software.

Mount-Ready and Compact

With its 1.25" eyepiece-style barrel, the iGuider fits snugly into many guide scopes, mini-guiders, and hybrid focusers. It pairs perfectly with compact refractors and multi-purpose OTA setups where space and weight matter. The camera draws power directly from your computer’s USB port, so there's no need for a separate power supply.

Ideal Pairing for iOptron Mounts

The iGuider is particularly well-matched to iOptron mounts like the CEM26, GEM28, CEM40, and other models that support ASCOM pulse guiding. Whether you're imaging from your backyard or operating a portable setup at a dark sky site, it helps ensure precise corrections without overcomplicating your workflow.

Observing Tip

Even if your mount tracks well, autoguiding can dramatically improve consistency over a long imaging run. With the iGuider’s pulse guiding system, there’s no need to deal with legacy ST-4 ports—just connect to your imaging software and let it go to work. If you're imaging at longer focal lengths, the iGuider becomes even more valuable in keeping stars tack sharp across dozens of frames.
