AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield – For Current Meade 10" LX90 & LX200 SCTs (Textured Matte Blue Finish)

Keep Dew Out and Contrast In—Custom Fit for Modern 10" Meade SCTs

The AstroZap Flexible Dew Shield for the Meade 10" LX90 and LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes (with the current textured matte blue finish) offers a lightweight, reliable barrier against dew and stray light. Whether you're observing planets from your backyard or imaging deep-sky targets under a star-filled sky, this shield helps your optics deliver peak performance.

Constructed from durable black ABS plastic and lined with light-absorbing felt, the shield attaches to the front cell of your telescope using a Velcro-style wraparound closure. The felt not only helps prevent dew formation by slowing the cooling of your corrector plate—it also blocks unwanted light from nearby sources that can wash out faint detail in nebulae and galaxies.

It’s lightweight, field-proven, and built to last—whether you’re rolling out your 10" Meade for a night under the stars or keeping it set up in an observatory.

Key Features:

  • Made for Meade 10" LX90 and LX200 SCTs: Custom fit for current models with textured matte blue finish

  • Felt-Lined Interior: Reduces glare and delays dew from forming on the corrector plate

  • Flexible Black ABS Plastic: Rugged, lightweight, and easy to store or transport

  • Velcro Closure: Tool-free installation with a secure grip

  • Contrast Booster: Ideal for imaging or observing in suburban or public outreach settings

  • Made in the USA: Built by AstroZap to deliver years of reliable use

Compatibility:

Fits current production Meade 10" LX90 and LX200 Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes with the matte blue finish. Not compatible with older gloss-finish models—see AstroZap’s alternate version for legacy tubes.

Observing Tip:

Install your dew shield before temperature starts to drop for best results. It’s easier to prevent dew from forming than to remove it once it appears—and the felt lining also helps suppress stray reflections from surrounding lights, making your star fields pop with greater contrast.
