Celestron’s 9.25" SCT is a favorite among visual observers and imagers alike—but like all Schmidt-Cassegrains, it’s susceptible to dew on the front corrector plate. The AstroZap AZ-809-N-1 Flexi-Heat® dew shield provides a powerful combination of passive insulation and active dew prevention, tailored specifically for 9.25" SCTs equipped with a single lower dovetail rail.
Made from durable, lightweight black ABS plastic with a black felt-lined interior, this flexible wraparound shield helps block stray light and insulate your corrector plate—slowing the onset of dew and improving contrast in light-polluted environments. A precisely cut notch at the bottom edge clears the dovetail bar, ensuring a snug and stable fit without interfering with your mounting hardware.
The built-in heating element draws 1.01 amps at 12 volts (12 watts) and connects via a 6-foot RCA plug to your existing dew controller. The heater helps maintain just enough warmth across the front corrector to prevent condensation, even on humid or frosty nights.
Sewn-in VELCRO® Brand fasteners and an internal trim ring provide a secure, non-slip grip around the front cell of the OTA, so it stays in place throughout your session.
The AZ-809-N-1 is fully compatible with controllers like the AstroZap Dual Channel Dew Controller (AZ-720) or DC adapter (AZ-719). Use of third-party controllers is not recommended and may void the warranty.
