AstroZap Flexi-Heat® Heated Dew Shield – For Celestron 9.25" SCTs on German Equatorial Mounts

Dew Prevention Meets Mount-Friendly Fit

The AstroZap Flexi-Heat® Dew Shield for Celestron 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes is specially designed for scopes mounted on German Equatorial Mounts (GEMs). This version features a single notch to accommodate the dovetail bar, ensuring a snug and balanced fit that won’t interfere with mounting hardware.

Constructed from durable black ABS plastic with a felt-lined interior, the shield passively blocks dew formation and stray light. But this Flexi-Heat® model goes a step further—it features a built-in heater strip that connects via standard RCA plug to any 12V dew controller (sold separately). The result is active dew prevention that keeps your corrector plate clear all night, even in high-humidity or rapidly cooling environments.

The Velcro-style closure makes it easy to install and remove, while the flexible body rolls for compact storage.

Key Features:

  • Designed for Celestron 9.25" SCTs on GEMs: Custom-fit notch clears dovetail mounting rail

  • Built-In RCA Heater Strip: Compatible with standard 12V dew controllers

  • Felt-Lined Interior: Absorbs stray light and helps delay temperature drop

  • Flexible ABS Body: Lightweight, durable, and field-tested

  • Velcro Closure: Secure attachment with fast installation

  • Made in the USA: Built to last by AstroZap

Compatibility:

Fits Celestron 9.25" Schmidt-Cassegrain OTAs mounted on German Equatorial Mounts with a single dovetail bar. Not compatible with fork-mounted configurations or OTAs with dual dovetails—see AstroZap’s dual-notch version for those models.

Observing Tip:

For best results, switch on your dew controller at the beginning of your observing session. Preventing dew is far more effective than trying to remove it after it’s formed—and with a shield like this, you’ll barely notice it’s there until your optics stay crystal-clear hours later.
