AstroZap Light Shroud – For 16" Astro-Tech AT16RCT Truss-Tube Ritchey-Chrétien
Stray Light Blocked. Contrast Enhanced. Optics Protected.
The AstroZap Light Shroud for the 16" Astro-Tech AT16RCT truss-tube Ritchey-Chrétien telescope is a lightweight, purpose-built solution for improving contrast, reducing glare, and shielding your optics from dust, dew, and environmental interference.
Custom-designed to fit the truss section of the AT16RCT, this breathable black nylon shroud stretches securely between the front and rear cells to block stray light from entering the optical path. The fabric is opaque, moisture-resistant, and flexible, allowing it to maintain its shape without sagging into the light path or trapping heat.
Whether you observe from a backyard, star party field, or light-polluted urban site, the AstroZap shroud adds another layer of optical performance and protection—while packing away easily when your session ends.

Observing Tip:
If you image under suburban skies or observe from a site with ambient lighting (streetlamps, houses, car headlights, etc.), a light shroud can make a surprising difference. It not only protects the optical system—it helps preserve every photon you’ve waited all night to see.
