More on the way

The iOptron iGuider Autoguider System (#3360) brings together two essential pieces of astrophotography hardware—a wide-field guide scope and a high-sensitivity CMOS camera—in one lightweight, plug-and-play package. Designed for simplicity, this compact guiding solution helps you keep your imaging target centered and your stars round, even during long exposures.

Whether you're setting up a portable imaging rig or adding precision to your permanent observatory, the iGuider is an easy way to improve tracking without adding bulk.

Built to Guide, Built to Travel

The iGuider system includes a 30mm f/4 mini guide scope with fully multi-coated optics for clear, sharp star images. Its short 120mm focal length offers a generous field of view, helping you locate guide stars quickly—even in star-poor regions of the sky.

Paired with the included 1.2MP CMOS guide camera, the system delivers responsive tracking corrections with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and a pixel size of 3.75 microns. This yields a guiding scale of approximately 6.4 arcseconds/pixel—ideal for short to medium focal length imaging setups.

Seamless USB Pulse Guiding

The iGuider is designed for ASCOM pulse guiding, with all corrections sent directly through the USB interface—no need for an ST-4 cable. This simplifies your cable management and ensures compatibility with popular guiding programs like PHD2, NINA, and SGP.

Just plug the camera into your imaging computer, select the ASCOM driver, and you're ready to guide.

Lightweight and Mount-Friendly

With a total weight of just around 200 grams, the iGuider won’t overload your setup—even on lightweight mounts. The scope comes pre-mounted on a 19mm finder-style dovetail base, which allows for quick installation on many iOptron mounts, including the CEM26, GEM28, CEM40, and GEM45, without requiring adapter plates or custom brackets.

Observing Tip

Autoguiding is one of the best upgrades an astrophotographer can make—especially when imaging at longer focal lengths or under windy conditions. The iGuider system lets you guide with confidence using a lightweight and unobtrusive setup. For even better results, take time to calibrate your guiding software with your mount’s mechanical specs, and use 1- to 2-second guide exposures to balance responsiveness and stability.
