AstroZap Dew Heater Strap for 11" Telescopes

The 11" telescope is a favorite among serious observers and astrophotographers for its ideal balance of light-gathering power and portability—but that generous corrector plate is still a prime dew magnet. The AstroZap Heater Strap for 11" scopes gives you a focused, reliable heating solution to stop moisture in its tracks and keep your optics dry all night long.

This strap is designed to fit around the front cell of 11" Schmidt-Cassegrains, as well as Ritchey-Chrétiens, Newtonians, and other optical tubes with similar outer diameters. It features a low-wattage nichrome heating element embedded in a flexible, fabric-backed band, delivering gentle, even warmth exactly where it’s needed.

It secures in seconds with a Velcro closure and runs on 12V DC power via a standard RCA connector, making it compatible with nearly all popular dew controllers. Lightweight and built to withstand field conditions, this strap is the perfect addition to any 11" scope setup—whether you're star-hopping from the backyard or gathering photons from a remote dark site.

Features:

  • Designed for 11" SCTs, RCs, Newtonians, and similar OTAs

  • RCA plug compatible with standard 12V dew heater controllers

  • Flexible, fabric-backed construction wraps securely around OTA

  • Velcro fastening system for easy and adjustable fit

  • Low-wattage heater element delivers safe, even warmth

  • Ideal for use on corrector plates, objective lenses, or front mirror cells

Observing Tip:

Larger corrector plates cool rapidly after sunset, often dropping below the dew point—especially if you're imaging for extended periods. Use the heater proactively by powering it on at setup to prevent dew before it starts forming. Pairing it with a dew shield can help you save power and double your defense.
