| This JMI molded hard case will hold a Meade 6" ETX-LX6SCT Schmidt-Cassegrain or 6" ETX-LX6ACF Advanced Coma-Free catadioptric telescope only. The case has a “bay window" extension in the side specifically shaped to cradle and protect the CCD imager that is mounted under each scope’s optical tube.
The exterior includes two lockable latches, a luggage-style retractable handle (for towing), two steel-reinforced handles (for lifting), a single and very durable 2" wide by 23" long steel piano hinge for the lid, and a pair of wheels at one end for more easily transporting the scope. The case can either be carried or pulled using the attached wheels.
Inside, the die-cut foam lining is precisely sized and cut to cradle your 6" scope securely. There are compartments for your telescope, eyepieces, and other accessories. A protective soft pouch is included for the hand unit and connecting cable. An automatic-repositioning quick-release finder bracket is also included. This bracket allows the red dot finder to be removed and placed in the carrying case without losing positioning. Simply reinstall the red dot finder with a single thumbscrew and you are ready to go.
The outside dimensions of the case are approximately 26.75" x 19.9" x 13.9" and its empty weight is approximately 16.8 lbs. The shipping box is approximately 27.25" x 14.5" x 20.75". However, because of its dimensions, the case is considered to be oversized by the shipping companies. They charge ground and air shipping as if the case weighed 44 lbs., instead of its actual shipping weight of 20.7 lbs.
