| The Meade LXD75 German equatorial mount is supplied with one 10 lb. counterweight as standard equipment. This single weight can typically balance a payload weighing 12 to 15 lbs. If your expected total payload is heavier than this, you can add this extra counterweight to balance the heavier load. A total of three of these counterweights (the one that came with the mount and two additional) is the maximum recommended with the LXD75 mount. This nominally 10 lb. weight (actually 9 lbs., 4 oz.) is painted off-white to match the color of the mount. It is bored to fit the LXD75’s 0.8" diameter counterweight shaft. A large no-tool lever locks the weight in place on the counterweight shaft.
