| This high capacity, high quality AC adapter is designed to power the Vixen Sky Sensor 2000 and Vixen's SD-1 and DD-1 drive systems for the Great Polaris and Great Polaris DX mounts and telescopes. It will also power the SkyPod go-to mount and the Sphinx go-to mount and Star Book controller by adding an optional AC2357 adapter. Since a set of 8 D-cell alkaline batteries will drive a Sky Sensor-equipped scope for only 2 hours at an ambient temperature of 32 degrees, this AC power supply is highly recommended to keep you from emptying your bank account buying batteries for extended telescope use during cool fall and winter nights. The AC3599 accepts any AC input from 100 to 240 volts at 50 or 60 Hz. It draws approximately 1.1 amps. Its output is 12 volts DC, with a 3 amp capacity. It has a two-prong AC plug input for connection to a standard AC household outlet. Its output is a 5.5mm diameter female plug, with a polarity of ring positive and tip negative. Note the polarity, which is the reverse of the polarity of most other AC adapters. Using a non-Vixen AC adapter of the wrong polarity can damage your drive motors.
