| This lightweight Astrozap metal dew shield is made of rugged 20-gauge welded-seam aluminum. The interior is lined with contrast-enhancing black felt to absorb both stray light and moisture. Its exterior is finished in a textured black to match the finish of the 12” Meade RCX400 Ritchey-Chrétien. The durable finish is baked on for long life and chip resistance. Nylon thumbscrews in heavy-duty metal inserts hold the dew cap onto the telescope optical tube and assure a secure fit. The thumbscrews lock into the thin groove in the rim of the metal barrel that projects from the front of the scope’s molded electric focusing motor housing. |
